The Kenai River

During this time of the year, we are fishing for the largest King Salmon in the world. The "World Famous" Kenai King. The Kings on the Kenai River average 45 lbs, with lots of fish in the 59, 60 and 70 lb. class caught every year. The world record is from the Kenai River, a whopping 97.4 lb. Giant! We catch these fish using a variety of river fishing methods, we either back-bounce , backtroll or boondog. All three methods are great producers of big fish. The Kenai River also hosts large runs of Silver Salmon (Coho), Sockeye Salmon (Reds)and Pink Salmon (Humpy's). The Kenai River also supports a large population native Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden. The River kicks out Rainbows over 20 pounds every years. All of which make for some spectacular flyfishing.

The Kasilof River

The Kasilof River is a small glacier fed river that hosts a large run of both King and Silver Salmon. This small river is a "Driftboat" river only. No motors are allowed on the river which makes for a very quiet, scenic and very enjoyable fishing trip. The King Salmon in this river average 15 to 30 lbs during the peak of the run. With several fish in the 40 to 50 lb. class caught every year. The Silver Salmon fishing here is awesome. The Silvers run anywhere between 8 - 20 pounds and are as hot as a firecracker. When you visit the Kenai Peninsula don't overlook this small streaml, it will draw you back to Alaska year after year.
